Available Intakes in Australia for 2023

Australia is about to welcome a good number of international students in 2023. According to PIE news, a notable 11% rise in enrolments in international students is expected—that’s about 161,000 foreign enrolments. High enough to compete with the 2019 figures back then.

Australia once earned a top spot as the most sought-after country for international studies. It may have toppled down during the emergence of COVID, but it is slowly redeeming its place. Even more so now that Australia has made it more appealing for foreign learners.

If you’re considering Australia as your study abroad destination, it’s crucial to learn as much as you can, especially when it comes to enrollment times.

Here are some helpful details about the available intakes in Australia for 2023.

Available intakes in Australia

Available intakes Australia

Most colleges and universities in Australia usually offer 2 intakes or semesters a year, while some offer more.

Regular intakes are in February and July―the first one being the main intake. For this reason, there are more applicants in February than in July.

  1. February intake - deadline: October to November

  2. July intake - deadline: April to May

If you are short of time, you can always go for the July intake. There is a limited number of applicants, however, the course options offered are fewer.

It’s important to render enough time when enrolling and applying for your student visa. The Australian government suggests submitting complete applications at least 6 weeks ahead of course commencement.

Which intake is now open for enrollment?

Since we are now in mid-February, the July intake is obviously the option for now. This means you should be prepared to lodge your application by April if you want to join the July 2023 intake.
